Lisa’s Yoga Bio

I began this journey as a certified fitness trainer in 1990. Ever since I have been in service to people, helping them understand the relationship between physical, mental health and overall wellness using various forms of cardio vascular and weight training exercises.

In May of 2000, after taking my first yoga class, I began to see how integration of the poses could help us fully embrace the more spiritual side of that training. This is the true meaning of integration of body, mind and spirit. Yoga was the “missing link” of spirit in my own fitness practice. This taught me to help myself and my clients become more conscious of sabotaging behavior patterns. This continues to be a point of focus for in teaching and practice. The magic of yoga and conscious breathing has to be experienced and cannot be expressed with mere words.

My yoga training and certifications include studying with international teachers, Anna Forest, Baron Baptiste, and Sean Corne. Being a yoga activist I continue to use my yoga on and off the mat to make a difference in the world in life affirming ways. (Visit www.The-Hudson-Group.net for more information on opening a dialog for change)

To date, I have completed batiste level 1 teacher training and yogafit teacher training with over 500 hours of study. Areas of study include the technical and physiological aspects of yogic science.

My teachers have come to me in many forms in this life, via books, the teachers I’ve sought out and a homeless guy I met on the streets of NCY named Leigh. I aspire to teach more yoga and be fearlessly compassionate and loving, to the plight of all. That’s my Yoga, come join me on your mat and on this path.
